ACTION FOR HEALTHY KIDS

BECAUSE EPIDEMICS DON'T FIX THEMSELVES

More than 30% of American children are obese or overweight -- Triple the amount since 1980. If the trend continues, this generation will be the first in our history to live shorter lives than their parents.

Here are some other sobering facts:

  • 1 in 2 students do not receive P.E. in an average week.
  • 35% of school-age children watch an average of 5 or more hours of TV on a school day.
  • The U.S. spends $199 billion annually on obesity-related health care costs.
  • Severely obese kids miss school 4 times as often as kids of healthy weight.

Schools lack the resources and support necessary to implement changes that can positively impact not only health outcomes for students but also their readiness to learn and succeed in school and beyond.

At Fit+Well, our greatest commitment is to the health and fitness of all our members & clients -- including our future ones. That is we have partnered with Action for Healthy Kids: a national organization that mobilizes school professionals, families and communities across the U.S. to take actions that lead to healthy eating, physical activity and healthier schools where kids thrive. Each year, they work with 25,000 schools and 13 million kids.

Learn More

We share Action for Healthy Kids' vision of a future where every kid is healthy, active and ready to learn. And most importantly, we are passionately and actively committed to making  Fit+Well part of a community of positive change for the cause.

It is our intention to raise meaningful funds to purchase P.E. equipment for schools without sufficient programs and nutritious breakfasts for children who need it, around the country.

We want YOU to be an integral part of it. Join us on October 7, 2018 for the Fit+Well 52,000 Race, or consider donating to this important effort.

THINK YOUR SWEAT IS FOR NOTHING BUT SORE MUSCLES? WE DISAGREE

Thanks to the sweat & effort of Club FITspiration members and Fit+Well staff, we raised funds to purchase equipment for 2 school P.E. programs in 2017, and double that, in 2018.

Join us in continuing to make a difference in 2020.
